Types of appointment

  • On the day
    These appointments will be allocated following triage by the GP.
  • Pre-booked
    For more routine matters
    Follow up appointments for the same condition as requested to do so by the GP
    Nurse appointments
  • Online
    You can also register for online appointments via the NHS App. the NHS App.
  • Telephone consultations
    All new problems will be triaged by the GP
    Pre-bookable telephone appointments can be made for Blood results / Medication reviews / Clinical requests following receipt of a letter

If you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason, please contact the surgery to cancel it so it can be given to another patient in need.
Waste of appointments by patients not attending without cancelling in sufficient time to offer the appointment to someone else is taken very seriously. Patients who do not attend an appointment and fail to cancel it, will be sent a letter warning them that they could be removed from the practice register.
Text messaging service

If you have a mobile phone registered with us, we will send a text the day before your booked appointment. If you do not wish to receive text messages, please let the surgery know.

Please book a 30 minute with the Practice Nurse for your initial appointment


Removal of stitches/follow up wound dressing
Please book a 15 minute appointment with the HealthCare Assistant

NHS health check
Please book a 30 minute appointment with the HealthCare Assistant - (Please note that these are for patients between age of 40-74 without a current Long Term Condition only in line with NHS guidance)


New Patient health check
Please book a 30 minute appointment with the Healthcare Assistant - (for patient who have registered with the practice in the last 3 months)

In the waiting room

We always try to minimise the time you spend in the waiting room but some patients' appointments may take longer than the time allocated, so please be patient if there is some delay.

Enhanced Services

People in South Tyneside can now access GP services until 8:00pm on weekdays and Saturdays. This is for patients who find it difficult to attend during regular hours or whose conditions worsen and feel the need to be seen quickly.

You will be seen at another surgery in South Tyneside. When booking these appointments staff will give you the full address and postcode.

You MUST book ahead via this practice either in person or by phone Monday - Friday during surgery hours. After 6pm you can call NHS111 who will signpost you to the most appropriate service.

All routine appointments with a doctor, nurse or health care assistant can be accommodated. Healthcare staff who see and treat you will be from another practice.

Opening times

The practice is open 8.30am to 6.00pm Monday to Friday. We are closed on Saturday, Sunday and Bank Holidays.

When we are closed

If you need medical help, which is not an emergency dial 111. If it is a life-threatening emergency dial 999.
