Making appointments

You can book an appointment by calling in to the surgery or by telephone on 0191 4028075.

Types of appointment

  • On the day
These appointments are limited and for urgent matters.
  • Pre-booked
For more routine matters - available up to 2 weeks in advance.
  • Online
To register for this service, you will need to attend the surgery with some photo ID (driving licence, passport etc). You will be given access details at the time of your visit. Please then register within 2 weeks.
You can also register for online appointments via the NHS App.
  • Telephone consultations
If you feel your problem can be discussed over the telephone, contact reception and they will advise you as to when you can expect a doctor to contact you.

In the waiting room

We always try to minimise the time you spend in the waiting room but some patients' appointments may take longer than the time allocated, so please be patient if there is some delay.

If you are unable to attend your appointment for any reason, please contact the surgery to cancel it so it can be given to another patient in need.
Waste of appointments by patients not attending without cancelling in sufficient time to offer the appointment to someone else is taken very seriously. Patients who do not attend an appointment and fail to cancel it, will be sent a letter warning them that they could be removed from the practice register.
Text messaging service

If you have a mobile phone registered with us, we will send a text the day before your booked appointment. If you do not wish to receive text messages, please let the surgery know.
